A Good Time Had By All

Saturday was our annual Christmas Charity Workshop which explains my lack of blog posts this last week.  We had 30 ladies attend to teach, help out and/or make their Christmas projects and help raise money for the Footprint cards which we now make for the Gold Coast Children's Hospital.

As usual I forgot to take photos before the day got started but here are a few photos of the displays.

Everyone in the team pitched in to create wonderful samples.

We had some wonderful ideas for Christmas.

Vicki had made up some of the beautiful star boxes from the Mini Merry Stars Simply Created Kit.

Santa featured quite a bit.

And Jessica organized the card competition - we had some beautiful entries.

This is the kit for this year.  Stampin' Up! orders come packed with sheets and sheets of brown paper.  It's nice to be able to put it to use.  I folded it and sewed up the sides before stamping it with Festival of Trees stamps.  All the bits and pieces for the projects were in these kits.

And these are the thank you gifts I gave to my team.

And how much did we raise???

Our card competition raised $15.
Our raffle of products donated by Stampin' Up! raised $280 (and I forgot to get a pic of that!)
And...that's not all.

This Christmas Charity Workshop is running this year in 8 different locations, which means 8 different types of venues.  Part of the budget of the customer's fee goes towards purchasing morning and afternoon tea at the venues.  However, Genesis Christian Ministries, the lovely church that hosts us, provides us with morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, all donated by the congregation members with Nanna Marg and Sue at the helm.  (Thanks Nanna Marg and Sue!)  So they donate that part of the budget back to us which means another $192.

Add to that a $50 donation from my hubby and we raised a grand total of $537!!

Thanks to everyone who attended this fun day.  Thanks also to Angela, Jenny, Jessica, Nadene, Maree and Vicki who helped prepare the kits and samples and help run the day so that it went smoothly.

Let's do it again next year!
